here’s the thing, I read a blog. Not often, not every day but on occasion. I knew this person once, not the real person by any means. But what this person decided to present themselves as. Even then I wondered the question I am still wondering.
This person has always claimed to be the real person, what they are and who they are in both worlds. I tend to question that then I tend to think I have no right to question that. Sometimes I read the blog and think “pain, ton’s of pain there” and other times I read the blog and think “what a crock of shit, get over it and move on” and then other times I think “Hey now, it can only get better from here right?” and other times it’s “Just freaking get over it already would ya” and then I get the “Well that is a bored person if I ever saw one” with “Who am I to judge” strongly following.
What an emotional array this person has the ability to bring out in others. Just by words. I shouldn’t be all that surprised since I have laughed at blogs before as well as cried with the writers. But none make my head spin like this one. One minute feeling bad, the next wanting to b!tch slap the person and then later getting angry then then then. Roller coaster effect (or is that affect? I can never keep those two words straight).
One might say “Well duh Misty, why do you read the blog then?!” and I would turn around and say “By Golly George, I have no fecking clue but thanks for asking.” If I knew, I would not be writing this post eh?
I honestly think that when people dwell on the bad, the negative and the horribly in their life, that is what they end up allowing others to see within themselves. It’s when they say “STOP, I have had enough” that the real them starts shining through. The most beautiful person we all have the ability to be if only we learn to release the bad and embrace the good. Sounds sorta guru like and let me rez a circle we can Ooooohhhhmm over please so we get it right the first time around.
Seriously. It’s true though. Took me two years of depression and a whole lotta letting go to realize that you simply cannot dictate, control or otherwise change another person. You have no obligation towards how another person behaves or acts. Their negatives are their own and you no longer have to be the victim because whatever they did or do is on them. Not you. That was my life lesson.
You can only be yourself if you let yourself be.
How’s that for profound?

Well duh Misty, why do you read the blog then?!
*dodges the shoe Misty throws at her*
Seriously, girl, you have got to let it go. Read if you want, but it is you who lets it get to you. Deep breaths while there.
Also, you are getting kind of deep here. It seems to me there is another blog that is rubbing off on you too.

If it annoys you, stop reading it.

Hi Misty, I’m not sure whose blog you are referring exactly but the points you make could apply to several blogs I read including mine and some of my friends.
I think often we only see a certain part of a person through their blog, the parts they choose to share, which is often those emotional charged times either high or low. Since hours or even days pass between posts it can give a false perception of the person’s emotional state. Also at times it is dramatized slightly because that’s how we feel at the time.
In any case I think blogging can be therapeutic and it’s healthy to evaluate and release emotions and thoughts and most bloggers I know write for personal reasons and not just for their readers.
Here is an interesting post about reason why people blog.

I agree with those above about not reading though, if it bothers you enough to post about it’s probably time to stop.

Emerald and Bridget: yep, you guys are right. I should just stop. I think I just keep hoping that one day I will click on the blog and suddenly “all will be well” although I don’t think that is going to happen.
CeNedra: I agree blogging can be very therapeutic. Tons of different reasons to blog for everyone, that is for sure.
Thanks for your comments!
